Concord Welcomes New Faculty
Concord University would like to welcome several new faculty members to campus for the fall 2017 semester.
Dr. Michael R. Bean Jr.: Dr. Bean has been named as a Professor of Education (Educational Leadership). Before coming to Concord he was a K-8 Principal in Ohio where he serviced over 650 students. He holds a Doctorate of Philosophy In Education - Leadership in Educational Administration. He comes to Concord from Columbus, Ohio.
Courtney Ross: Ms. Ross joins the Department of Social Work & Sociology as a visiting Assistant Professor of Sociology. Ms. Ross earned her Bachelor of Arts in Sociology/Anthropology, Minors in English; Communication Studies at West Virginia University, then went onto Virginia Tech for her Masters of Science in Sociology. She also earned a PhD (ABD) in Sociology with an Emphasis in Gender and Sexuality from Georgia State University. She hails from Paden City, WV.
Dr. Nina Slota: Dr. Nina Slota joins Concord as an Assistant Professor of Social Work. She holds a Ph.D. in Psychology from the Graduate Center of the City University of New York. She was previously an adjunct at Hunter College in New York and then taught at Northern State University in Aberdeen, South Dakota.
Other new faculty members include: Dr. Marwa Abdel Latif- Assistant Professor of Chemistry; Dr. Darrick Brake- Instructor of Sociology; Ms. Shelly Stump- Assistant Professor of Accounting, and Dr. John Swiger- visiting as a Half-Time Professor of Finance.
We are thrilled to have all of these wonderful educators join the Mountain Lion Family and wish them the best of luck during their first semester on the Campus Beautiful!
