Concord Students Thank Donors
Concord University is known for how small it is. We are a small school located in an even smaller community. However, coming from a small community can have more up than downs. This University is known for how tightly knit we are and the “family vibe” that we have.
Concord University measures its success by the fulfillment alumni find in their careers and throughout their lives. Concord’s alumni usually come back and support their alma mater, as well. Our University currently has 154 donors for scholarships given at the University. These help students in many different ways. From students who otherwise wouldn’t have a way to come to school at all, to helping students buying textbooks, these scholarships are a blessing.
This year Concord University held the very first Thank-a-Thon, organized by the Concord University Foundation and run by students from the University 100 classes. The Concord University Foundation wanted to hold this event to show students the importance of donors, staff, and faculty in helping to further students at Concord.
“This was our first time holding this event and I really appreciate how many students came out. We had over 300 students write cards to donors, faculty, and staff,” said Bren Yeager, the Interim Executive Director of the Concord University Foundation. The office also gave a sweet treat to all the students who stopped by to write a thank you card, offering cupcakes from Cupcake Kisses in Princeton.
The postcards that were written to different staff and faculty are going to be delivered to campus boxes and offices while the different scholarship thank you cards will be mailed out to donors.
If there are any students who did not get a chance to write a thank you card to their person of choice, they can come to University Point between the hours 8 AM and 3:30 PM and do so.
