Q: Hi, Linh. Would you introduce yourself?

A: My name is Linh and I’m from Hanoi, Vietnam. Hanoi is a capital city of Vietnam and with Ho Chi Minh city, Hanoi is one of the biggest city. And this is my very first year studying in Concord University. Before then, I had my high school days at Dallas.

Q: So when was your first day to come to USA?

A: My first day when I came to the USA is on August 10th, 2014. I’m used to studying high school in America, which is in Dallas, Texas.

Q: Do you miss your country? As you know a lot of international students miss their country.

A: Yes, I do. Although I have been studied in America for almost 3 years now, but I still miss my country just like the first day I came to US. It s a very common feelings which I bet every international student understand it.  The things that I missed the most about my country, I should say it will be my family, friends, and the food.

Q: What made you come here?

A: The reason why I cam to US is very simple, it is because I want to make my dream come true. When I was young, my dream was to come to America to study. And moreover, I love speaking English. ( Linh is the best English speaker among my international friends. She is perfect!)

Q: There are many schools in USA. Is there any reasons that you came to Concord University?

A: I found out about the school from one of my friend then I look it up online. And I see Concord have a good education program, and the tuition is not too expensive.

Q: How do you like it here?

A: The thing that I like about Concord the most is that people in here are very friendly and helpful. All of the staff members to the teachers and students. I still remembered the first day of school, I didn’t know where my classroom is and a started to ask some students, they are so nice, and open, she even walked with me to the classroom.

Q: What are the hard things to stay here? I mean kind of challenges that you face.

A: To be honest, sometimes it getting a little bit boring. Something there is just nothing to do here, and the transportation is very hard, because the school is pretty far with almost every place that I wanted to go. And sometime I’m struggling with classes, for example, English. Of course this is not my mother tongue but I’m trying to be better always. Beside those things, I’m doing good so far.

Q: Can you recommend attractions in Hanoi? Actually, I’m considering going to Hanoi after the semester ends.

A: Oh, glad to hear that. There are tons of attractions in Hanoi! Hoankiem lake, Night market, Dong Xuan market, Beer street, Riding electric car for looking around old town, Thuong Dien (Vietnamese First University), Vietnam military history museum, Saint Joseph Catholic Church, Nagu (teddy bear store)… Oh! I cannot mention all of the attractions! There are lots of tourists from Korea, so maybe you can get numerous information from the internet or media. Oh, in my town, there is Vietnamese restaurant, named “Hanoi Star”. And it serves the best Pho in town. Pho is one of my favorite food. If you come to Hanoi when I am in the Hanoi, I can be your guide!
