SGA to hold open forums

The Student Government Association is having forums about “hot spot” topics. They will be Friday at 4 at Subway stage area. They will be discussing Open visitation, dining options, and other topics that could greatly influence the students here at Concord. If you have an opinion about some of the things happening here at Concord, or not happen- ing, make sure you come to the forums to let your voice be heard.

These forums will help SGA identify the needs of Concord’s students and help get them satisfied. Gregory Slone, SGA Ombudsman, will be the leader of the discussions. The next couple of weeks will mainly focus on Open Visitation, but there are other ideas that need student support behind them too. There will be emails sent out about what the topics are, and some surveys to help see the student want for the changes.

Even though the time is on a Friday and many students have already left to go home, this time was set because there is no class conflict. The topics range from minor things like syllabi being man- datory the first week of class to major things like dining options, open visitation, and a potential dead week before finals. On some topics Slone will have a presentation to fully explain what it is and what the changing options are, but the majority of the topics will be a relaxed debate. Everyone is highly encouraged to go and bring a friend, to help publicize these forums. These forums are to help Concord to become better for the students and what the students want.
