When trying to figure out the right words to say, all I can think about is how fast these past three and half years have flown by. It seems like it was just yesterday I was moving my stuff into North Towers, dreading the next four years. Thankfully, that dread quickly turned into excitement. I have met great people and professors, as well as found a major that I’m excited to make into a career, and I am forever grateful to Concord for that.
I know it is that time of the semester where the weeks have wound down and we have somehow found ourselves finishing the dreaded finals week, but take it from the old lady that is about to graduate, enjoy every minute of it and appreciate everyone that has made a difference in your education. As cliché as that sounds, the time spent in college goes by faster than you would ever think.
Without further ado, I want to thank my professors that have made my education worth it. Thank you, Ms. Williams, for helping me to take on the Concordian and pushing me to strive to always learn more. Thank you, Mrs. Akers, for understanding my anxiety and perfectionism and teaching me that my best is enough. And thank you, Dr. Williams, for being my mentor and advisor throughout this program and helping me to get where I am today.
I also want to thank my friends, because without them, I wouldn’t have had that someone in my corner pushing me to be the best that I can be. Thank you, Ryan, Aly, Mikayla, Jaxon, Maizy, Chelsea, and Cole for always being there and helping me to get through my last semester when my husband graduated and went to pharmacy school. Thank you, Josie and Brianna, for always coming over and studying for our classes in this tough program. And thank you, to my Managing Editor, Amy, and staff writers for helping me to make this paper possible every single week.
Being on the staff for the past two years and being the Editor-in-Chief for the last year has been a privilege. I have learned so much and found a passion that I never knew I had for writing.
So, with all of that being said, my advice to my fellow students –although it may be hard at times, appreciate your time and the people you have met here at Concord, and don’t blink.
